meet maggie!
Hi there! I’m Maggie (she/her), and I’m so glad you found your way here.
I’m a certified birth doula, a certified lactation counselor (CLC), and I hold a master’s degree in public health. I support families in the Milwaukee area with inclusive, compassionate, and trauma-informed care during pregnancy, birth, and postpartum.
My journey into birthwork began with the stories of my own mother and grandmother, who both chose unmedicated birth and extended breastfeeding. Their experiences helped shape my deep respect for natural, instinctual mothering.
Professionally, my path started in college, where I studied global health and learned how doulas can improve outcomes for birthing people and babies. Years later, during my own pregnancy, I experienced the power of that support firsthand. My doula, Kim Duran, was a grounding presence through a difficult birth and postpartum period. Her care inspired me to jump fully into this work, and since 2024 I have had the honor of walking alongside families as they welcome their babies with strength, autonomy, and joy.
I speak both English and Spanish, and I meet every client with a judgement-free and personalized approach. I honor every birth story, every body, and every background.
When I am not supporting births, you can usually find me chasing my toddler with an iced latte in hand, on a jog down the parkway, or dreaming about my next travel adventure.
my philosophy
I believe in the beauty of an undisturbed birth and the power of the body’s natural physiological process. While interventions and medication can be valuable tools when necessary, I see birth not as a medical event, but as a normal, natural, and often spiritual experience. This journey is most fulfilling when you feel safe, respected, and confident in your body’s ability to bring your baby into the world.
Throughout our time together, I’ll provide honest, evidence based information and resources to ensure you feel informed, empowered, and confident in your decisions. I encourage you to trust your intuition while equipping you and your partner with the knowledge and tools needed to create the birth experience you envision.
Together, we’ll explore your hopes and fears, practice relaxation techniques and labor positions, and plan for postpartum care, ensuring you receive the support you deserve. My passion for perinatal mental health, shaped by my own experiences, also allows me to offer support for any mood or anxiety challenges that may arise during this time.
Whether this is your first pregnancy or your fifth, and whether you’re planning a home birth or a hospital induction, you can expect me to be a warm, compassionate, and grounding presence as you navigate this transformative phase of your life.
